Harrow Council announce return of community awards celebrating local heroes

Harrow Council has announced the return of its highly anticipated community awards, Harrow’s Heroes, set to take place this September.

Harrow’s Heroes aims to recognise the exceptional achievements, hard work, and dedication of individuals and teams who have made Harrow a special place to live and work. The awards showcase the best that the borough has to offer, highlighting the selfless acts of thousands of people who go above and beyond to help their neighbours and communities.

The awards cover a wide range of categories, including emergency services, carers, food distributors, teachers, volunteers, street cleaners, befrienders, and transport drivers. Harrow Council wants to celebrate the many great initiatives and positive actions happening within the borough, regardless of their scale.

Councillor Jean Lammiman, the Cabinet Member for Community and Culture, expressed her enthusiasm for the upcoming awards. She said, “Everyone knows a local hero, and we want to hear about the amazing things they do in our borough. So please nominate your heroes for this year’s Harrow’s Heroes awards.

“Every year I am moved and inspired by the nominations received and I am sure this year will be no different. The awards celebrate the best of Harrow and give recognition to individuals and teams who do great things to make positive and sometimes life-changing differences to others. I look forward to seeing your nominations.”

As the Harrow’s Heroes awards return, the community is encouraged to take part in recognising and appreciating those who have made a significant difference in the lives of others. Further details are expected to be announced in due course.
