Police investigating an incident in South Oxhey are appealing for a potential second victim to come forward as part of continued enquiries.
The incident occurred between 6pm and 7pm on Saturday 6 May in South Oxhey.
It is reported that a 14-year-old girl was walking along Prestwick Road, heading in the direction of Little Oxhey Lane, when a man in a white van was seen driving alongside her.
It is alleged that the man made several inappropriate comments towards her, before he then followed a second female pedestrian on foot a short time after, within the same area.
He then returned to his van, before colliding with two other vehicles and a speed camera and leaving in the direction of Northwood. No attempts were made to touch the females.
Detective Sergeant Stuart Keene, who is investigating, said: “I appreciate this incident is likely to cause concern among the local community and want to reassure people that our investigation is continuing behind the scenes to trace the whereabouts of, and arrest, the driver.
“Since the incident was reported to us, we have managed to identify and speak to the 14-year-old girl. From reviewing dash cam footage, it was ascertained that the second female was then approached and followed on foot. At this time, she has not come forward and we would like to identify this person, as she may be able to help our enquiries.
“Additionally, if you were driving in the area around the times specified and have a dash cam fitted to your vehicle, please review the footage and send us anything you think may assist with our enquiries. Any information, even something that may seem relatively minor or insignificant, could be key to progressing our investigation.”
Anyone with information is asked to please contact DS Keene by email.
