Wembley Park announce Pride event to be held later this month

Wembley Park has announced an extraordinary event that promises laughter, inspiration, and a celebration of diversity.

On Saturday, 24th June, Wembley Park will host “Wembley Park Pride Presents: The Queer Comedy Club” at the newly constructed open-air stage, the Sound Shell, right in front of the iconic Wembley Stadium.

From 6pm to 9pm, Wembley Park will come alive with its second annual Pride celebration, produced by The Queer Comedy Club, the UK’s first and only exclusively LGBTQ+ comedy venue.

Having opened its doors in Archway, North London, just last month, The Queer Comedy Club is bringing its remarkable talent to Wembley Park for an unforgettable evening.

This fantastic event is an integral part of Wembley Park’s Summer of Play programme, ensuring there is something for everyone to enjoy. Attendees can expect an exceptional lineup of comedy talent that will have them in stitches.

Renowned Edinburgh Fringe stars, up-and-coming circuit talents, and seasoned comedy club veterans will grace the stage, with the full lineup set to be announced next week, adding to the anticipation.

The open-air Sound Shell stage, illuminated by multi-colored spotlights, will set the perfect backdrop for this evening of laughter and entertainment. Audiences will embark on a hilarious journey filled with side-splitting comedy performances and captivating spoken word acts.

These moments of queer hilarity will also provide an opportunity for reflection and learning, as spoken word artists discuss their queer identities, creating a unique and powerful experience for all.

To enhance the overall atmosphere of the night, Wembley Park will warmly welcome all attendees with complimentary popcorn – a winner all round!.

The best part? This much-anticipated event is completely free and open to all individuals aged 16 and above. However, as the comedy performances may feature some spicy language, it’s advised to book tickets in advance through Wembley Park’s booking page. Demand is expected to be as high as a drag queen’s heels, so securing your spot early is highly recommended.

In addition to this extraordinary event, Wembley Park is demonstrating its commitment to inclusivity and diversity throughout June.

Giant ceremonial banners displaying the Progress Pride flag will adorn Olympic Way, serving as a warm welcome and a symbol of acceptance to all visitors arriving in Wembley for the bustling summer season.
