Greenford incident: Armed police swarm street, three arrested

Armed police have swarmed a street in Greenford this afternoon (11 June).

Reports came in to Harrow Online shortly after 4pm that armed police have been spotted at a flat in Sudbury Heights Avenue on the junction with Allendale Road.

An eyewitness that there were some police officers in unmarked cars who were watching the area closely. Meanwhile, other officers were standing near the entrance of a building while a team of officers searched a flat.

It seems that there were no road closures and no other local police units were present.

Some concerned residents were recording videos on their phones according to the eyewitness. Forensics have also been seen at the site.

Met Police statement on Greenford incident

A spokesperson for Met Police said in a statement: “At 14:39hrs on Sunday, 11 June police were called to an address in Sudbury Heights Avenue, Greenford following reports that a firearm had been seen.

“Officers, including firearms officers, attended. A possible firearm was found and three men were arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm.

“They remain in custody and an investigation is under way.”
