Harrow 201 Army Cadets triumph in Hamlin Cup competition

Harrow’s 201 Army Cadet Force (ACF) achieved an impressive victory in the Hamlin Cup Drill & Shooting Competition held on Thursday night, June 22.

The event, held each year at Harrow School at their inter cadet competition, marked a remarkable milestone for the unit, as they secured three prestigious awards.

The Mayor of Harrow, Cllr Ramji Chauhan, was present to witness the cadets’ remarkable performance, and pose for photos with members of the unit in this special occasion.

The 201 Harrow ACF proudly claimed the following honors: Best Turnout (uniform), Best Drill, and Best Drill Instructor. These accolades reward the cadets’ relentless dedication, tireless training, and remarkable teamwork showcased by the cadets.

Cadet Sergeant Major Jamie Ryan, Drill Instructor at 201 ACF, spoke of his pride and satisfaction with their achievement.

Speaking with Harrow Online, he said, “As the drill instructor of my army cadet team, I couldn’t have been prouder when we emerged victorious in the harrow drill competition. Months of rigorous training, discipline, and teamwork had finally paid off.

“The synchronized movements, precise commands, and unwavering focus of every cadet under my guidance were truly remarkable. Our unwavering dedication to perfection and attention to detail set us apart from the rest.

“Winning the drill competition not only validated our hard work but also strengthened the bond among our cadets, forging lifelong friendships and memories. We proved that with strong leadership, unwavering determination, and a shared sense of purpose.”
