In some fantastic news for Harrow Town Centre, the Moon on the Hill has been taken off the market and won’t be sold.
The news comes after a successful ‘Save our Spoons’ campaign was launched back in October last year following the announcement that the town centre branch was one of 32 due to be sold off.
At the time, Wetherspoons had announced that it was selling off the pubs amid rising staff and labour costs. The pub confirmed the ‘commercial decision’ after previously warning that it could face losses of up to £30million.
Robin White, Pub Manager of Harrow Wetherspoon’s said: “Keeping Moon on the Hill open has just been the revelation none of us were expecting. Both the staff and customers alike are thrilled and so overjoyed with the news, it certainly went down well in the local community!
“Louise and the Harrow BID team have been so helpful too in supporting us and spreading the word to the community to keep the sales coming in, ergo keeping our doors open for good!!
“Personally I’m so happy for the regulars and the community as a whole as it’s a very loveable pub with a lot of character and good folks, the staff too have been so spirited and supportive for the last 8 months too so I can’t thank them enough for all their hard work and commitment!”
