Car ploughs into shop on Wealdstone High Street

Wealdstone High Street was closed in both directions this afternoon after a car ploughed into the front of a shop.

The road was closed off at around 4:45pm and cleared at 6:35pm with all buses through Wealdstone on diversion including the 340, 182 and 258.

An eye witness claimed that the car hit a bus prior to veering off the road and into a shop front.

The Met Police told Harrow Online: “Police were called at approximately 16:35hrs on Friday, 7 July to reports of a road traffic collision in High Street, Wealdstone.

“A car had collided with a shop window after being in collision with a bus.

“No reports of any injuries.

“Road closures were put in place while the scene was dealt with; these were lifted at around 18:45hrs.

“No arrests; enquiries into the circumstances are ongoing.”

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 4.27 pm today (7 July) to reports of a road traffic collision on Wealdstone High Street, Harrow.

“We sent an ambulance crew, a medic in a fast response car and an incident response officer to the scene.

“We assessed one patient who was then discharged at the scene.”
