Whitchurch Lane in Edgware has been closed off by police since around 4am this morning (28 July) after a fatal stabbing.
A significant emergency services presence was at the scene in the early hours, with photos posted by a member of the Harrow Online Group showing a police cordon in place just before the junction with Edgware High Street
Sadly, London Ambulance Service (LAS) confirmed that the victim died at the scene.
A spokesperson for LAS said: “We were called at 1.03am today (28 July) to reports of a stabbing on Whitchurch Lane, Edgware.
“We sent numerous resources to the scene, including an ambulance crew, medics in two fast response cars, an incident response officer and a clinical team manager. We also dispatched London’s Air Ambulance, which consisted of a doctor and a paramedic in a car.
“Sadly, despite the best efforts of our medics, a person was pronounced dead at the scene.”
A spokesperson for Met Police told Harrow Online: “A murder investigation is underway following a stabbing in Edgware.
“Police were called at approximately 01:05hrs on Thursday, 28 July to reports of a man suffering a stab injury in Whitchurch Lane, Edgware.
“Officers, London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance attended the scene.
“Despite the best efforts of the emergency services, the man – believed aged 19 – died at the scene.
“His next of kin have been informed.
“A crime scene remains in place.
“No arrests; enquiries into the circumstances continue.”
