Large police presence spotted in Edgware after man ‘behaving erratically’

Police officers rushed to Edgware last night after reports of a man ‘behaving erratically’.

A large police presence was spotted outside the former Railway Hotel at around 10pm yesterday evening, with members of the public wondering what had happened.

One person posted via the Harrow Online Group: “Anyone know what’s happening in Edgware town centre right now?”

A spokesperson for Met Police said in a statement: “Police were called to Station Road, Edgware at about 21:53hrs on Thursday 3 August following reports that a man was behaving erratically.

“Officers attended along with colleagues from London’s Ambulance Service.

“The man was sectioned under section 136 of the Mental Health Act.”
