Canal boat ‘destroyed by fire’ in Uxbridge as 25 firefighters tackle blaze

Four fire engines rushed to Uxbridge on Saturday (5 August) to reports of a boat on fire.

A spokesperson for London Fire Brigade said: “Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters tackled a boat fire near Packet Boat Lane in Uxbridge.

“A canal barge was destroyed by fire. There were no reports of any injuries.

“The Brigade was called at 2231 and the fire was under control by 0053. Fire crews from Hayes, Heathrow, Ruislip and Hillingdon fire stations attended the scene.

“The cause of the fire is under investigation.”
