Edgware residents are gearing up for a two-day extravaganza at the upcoming Community Summer Fair, scheduled for August 26th (11am – 6pm) and August 27th (11am – 5pm) at The Broadwalk’s long-stay car park.
The event, which coincides with the centenary of Station Road and the extension of the London underground, promises a mix of entertainment, creativity, and engagement.
Art enthusiasts and budding creatives can dive into free arts and crafts workshops featuring nature-inspired painting sessions. The Makers’ Market will showcase local talents, offering a selection of items ranging from jewellery to candles and clothing.
The fair isn’t just for the adults; children can look forward to free skateboarding classes, circus skill workshops, and vibrant face-painting sessions. The nostalgic presence of a vintage Routemaster bus will house poetry writing and storytelling, along with activities presented by the London Transport Museum.
Food, drinks, and live music will keep the energy high for visitors of all ages throughout the event.
For those interested in Edgware Town Centre’s future, the fair provides an opportunity to get a glimpse of proposals from Ballymore & Transport for London. Attendees can view and offer feedback on these plans before they are submitted to Barnet Council in the coming months.
