This week, the sun beamed down on Harrow as the borough’s celebrated Green Flag parks received their accolades in official presentations.
The prestigious Green Flags, awarded annually by Keep Britain Tidy to the nation’s best-maintained parks, found their homes in six of Harrow’s green spaces.
Canons Park, Harrow Rec, Roxeth Rec, Pinner Memorial Park, Kenton Rec, and Headstone Manor Rec all basked in the glory of recognition, and hopes are high for more Harrow parks to follow suit in the future.
The heart of this success story comes from the Harrow’s Parks team, alongside local user groups and dedicated volunteers, all of whom played pivotal roles in preserving the parks.
Harrow’s Green Flag parks are a true reflection of our community’s dedication.
Speaking at the time the awards were announced, Cllr Anjana Patel, cabinet member for Environment and Community Safety, said, “This is fantastic news for Harrow. Our parks are great places to relax, exercise, and meet family and friends.
“I know a lot of work has taken place behind the scenes to attain these 6 Green Flag Awards – in fact, we made this one of our key flagship actions.”
