Eight fire engines rush to blaze at Kilburn flats

Firefighters have rushed to Kilburn tonight after a blaze at a block of flats broke out on the 13th floor.

London Fire Brigade said: “Eight fire engines and around 60 firefighters have been called to a flat fire on Kilburn Square in Kilburn.

“Half of a flat on the 13th floor of a 15 storey building is alight.

“It’s a very visible fire and the Brigade’s 999 Control room received 78 calls alerting them to the fire.

“The Brigade was called at 1843 and is still at the scene. Fire crews from Kentish Town, Kensington, Park Royal, Hendon, Chelsea, Euston and Soho fire stations are in attendance.

“The cause of the fire is not known at this stage.”

London Fire Brigade have confirmed that the fire is now under control.
