Boxtree Lane in Harrow Weald was closed off this afternoon after a road traffic incident at around 3pm.
A supermarket delivery van was seen flipped on its side at the Boxtree Lane entrance to Harrow Weald Recreation Ground (aka Boxtree Park).
London Ambulance Service confirmed that a man was taken to hospital.
There were a number of emergency service vehicles and personnel at the scene including Met Police, who blocked the road off, London Fire Brigade and London Ambulance Service.
One person said: “There’s been some kind of serious incident/collision in Harrow Weald, there’s police and ambulances all on Boxtree Lane outside Boxtree Park. Lots of sirens and fire brigade are there too.”
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called today (1 October) at 14.49pm to reports of an overturned van on Boxtree Road, Harrow Weald.
“We sent an ambulance and a medic in a fast-response car.
“We treated a man at the scene before taking him to a local hospital.”
A spokesperson for London Fire Brigade said: “Firefighters attended a road traffic collision on Boxtree Road in Harrow Weald yesterday (October 1) .
“A van had collided with a parked car near the junction with Boxtree Lane. One man left the van before firefighters arrived. He was left in the care of the London Ambulance Service.
“A crew worked with emergency service partners to make the scene safe. The Brigade was called at 1453 and the incident was over for firefighters by 1520. A fire engine from Harrow Fire Station attended the scene.”
