Headstone Manor and Museum is set to unveil a new exhibition, ‘Our Journey, Our Harrow,’ running from October 20, 2023, to January 28, 2024.
This exhibition will focus on Harrow’s diverse Afghan communities, acknowledging their contributions to the borough as a sanctuary for those escaping Afghanistan.
The project, funded by the National Archives Sustainability Grant, aims to increase awareness of the museum’s collections, making them more inclusive and fostering community ties.
‘Our Journey, Our Harrow’ will feature artwork by Afghan artists, archival prints, and a community-created art piece. Families can engage in activities like dressing up and exploring Afghan cuisine recipes.
Curated by Dr. Eda Yazici and Dr. Holly Winter, the exhibition will be housed in the museum’s Great Hall and is free for all visitors.
Admission is free and open to all ages. The exhibition can be explored in the museum’s Great Hall, located Pinner View, Harrow, HA2 6PX, during regular opening hours.
