Some Harrow residents that are in receipt of benefits will be able to access low cost broadband it has been announced.
Posting in the MyHarrow newsletter, Leader of the London Borough of Harrow, Cllr Paul Osborn said, “Reliable broadband is important in so many areas of our lives.
“People who are unable to afford a fast connection can miss out on opportunities. They may pay more for goods and services and are generally less able to participate.
“I’m very pleased to bring you news of a government scheme that offers low-cost broadband and mobile phone packages to our least well-off households.
“If you’re in receipt of a qualifying benefit, you can now access a broadband deal for as little as £15 a month and a phone contract for £10 a month. See further details below.”
These deals are available to people claiming Universal Credit, Pension Credit and some other benefits. Some deals are as low as £10 per month.
