Harrow Council has announced significant changes to the way residents can view and comment on planning applications via their website.
In a recent post on their site, the Council stated, “You are a resident and want to view planning applications and submit comments. While we are updating our planning system, we will be keeping the planning portal online so you will be able to view all registered applications up until the 27th of September.
“You will also be able to make comments on those applications until Monday the 9th October.”
The Council clarified that applications received on or after the 27th of September will not be available until the new system has been implemented. During this transition period, consultation periods will continue as usual, providing residents with opportunities to view plans, documents, and make comments.
The planning portal will be taken down today (9th October) to facilitate the switch to the new system.
Additionally, Harrow Council noted, “While we are implementing the system, all applications submitted through the National Planning Portal will be held until the new system has been implemented. At this point, we will download all the applications and the team will start processing the applications in chronological order.
“Our officers will be unavailable during this period as they will be working on getting applications up to date. Our Duty Planning service will be available as usual. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your patience. You will still be able to report a planning breach online during this period.”
Harrow Council’s move aims to streamline the planning process and enhance resident engagement.
