Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters were called to a fire yesterday (10 October) at a restaurant on Walm Lane in Brent.
Firefighters fought a blaze in a three-story restaurant building with flats above. The fire damaged a flat, first-floor extension roof, and ducting from the ground to the third floor.
There were a number of gas cylinders inside the building. They were cooled to an ambient temperature and removed as some cylinders can explode when exposed to heat. The London Fire Brigade Control room received 16 calls about the fire.
The Brigade was called at 12:00pm and the fire was under control by 12:41pm. Fire crews from West Hampstead, North Kensington, Hendon and other surrounding fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire will be investigated.
