In some exciting news from neighbouring Watford last night, a major brand reportedly descended upon the heart of the town centre to shoot their upcoming Christmas advert.
The news broke after Watford Town Centre Business Improvement District (BID) took to social media to share an unexpected behind-the-scenes glimpse.
In a post on their socials, Watford Town Centre BID posted: “Filming in Watford Town Centre!! Walkers Crisps appear to be making a Christmas advert! If you wondered why our LED tree lights are on this evening – now you know, we haven’t turned them on for Christmas… yet.”
The snack giant reportedly chose the picturesque Watford Town Centre as the backdrop for their festive campaign.
Filming kicked off outside 135 The Parade, where a flurry of activity ensued. Onlookers were treated to a sight of a filming crew, tents, and vehicles strategically parked around the town’s pond on The Parade. The production crew were also accompanied by a vigilant security team.
Walkers also reportedly requested the town’s LED Christmas lights to be switched on in a soft white hue, creating the right Christmassy tone for their commercial.
The Watford Town Centre BID team and Watford Council wholeheartedly embraced the opportunity, collaborating to transform the town into a winter wonderland for the shoot.
Café De Lisboa, a local business, played a pivotal role in the production, graciously accommodating the filming crew until late into the night.
The café stayed open until 9:30pm, providing a cozy refuge for the cast amidst the filming activities. Warm cups of coffee and delectable natas were served, ensuring the cast and crew remained energised and dry throughout the evening.
Residents and businesses alike, including the Harrow Online team, eagerly await the release of the ad, after all – Christmas is coming!.
