Halloween pet parade thrills Wembley Park residents

Wembley Park came alive with wagging tails and spooky costumes on Saturday, as 25 creatively dressed dogs and their owners participated in the second annual Halloween Pet Parade.

Organised by Quintain Living, the company overseeing more than 3,650 pet-friendly apartments in Wembley Park, the event took place at their build-to-rent development, Canada Gardens.

The parade featured an array of imaginative costumes, ranging from aqua dogs to Harry Potter-themed hounds. The Best Dressed prize, a £500 John Lewis & Partners voucher, was claimed by Mouse, the Hungarian Vizsla, for his aqua dog costume.

Second place went to Lula, Pippa, and Fitz, who embraced a Harry Potter theme, winning a £150 London Designer Outlet voucher. The third-place winner was Draco the Husky, dressed as Grandma from Little Red Riding Hood, earning a £100 London Designer Outlet voucher.

The lively and free-to-participate event, inspired by New York’s famous Tompkins Square Dog Run Parade, attracted over 100 guests.

The day featured a compere and a three-person judging panel, including Aneka Johnson, the founder of The Cuddle Club, Dee Sagoo, the General Manager, and Viktoria, the Founder of Wembley-based Victoria Dog Obedience Training.

Following the announcement of the winners, contestants and their owners socialized in Quintain Living’s Canada Gardens.

Humans enjoyed complimentary glasses of prosecco while dogs indulged in their goody bags.

The event also featured The Cuddle Club’s pop-up stall, offering pawdicures, products, and a raffle with £200 worth of cuddly goodies. The Cuddle Club Heroes, dedicated to spreading happiness through dog therapy, were also present, adding to the festivities.

Quintain Living’s pet-friendly ethos extends beyond the parade, with every Quintain Living building accommodating pets. London Designer Outlet, part of the Quintain Living community, provides water bowls, treats, and emergency poop bags.

Additionally, Union Park South and Elvin Gardens feature areas where dogs can roam off-leash. The Cuddle Club, a pampering paradise for pooches, offers grooming, spa treatments, toys, treats, accessories, walking services, and doggy day-care.

“It was great to see so many pets and their owners making new friends and creating happy memories together, as well as enjoying the music, food and photo opportunities that were such a successful part of the day.”
