Harrow Council has launched an ambitious initiative, inviting residents to share their visions for Harrow Town Centre’s future.
The council has taken to social media, urging residents to voice their preferences for the town’s development, including everything from shops and restaurants to cultural spaces, leisure activities, housing, and children’s play areas.
The council’s official social media channels posted a call to action: “What would you like to see more of in Harrow Town Centre?
“Tell us your top 5 whether it’s shops and restaurants, culture leisure or pop-up events, or even housing or children’s play spaces. Tell us more at our Masterplan survey.”
This initiative is part of the Harrow Town Centre Masterplan engagement, scheduled to run from Autumn 2023 to Winter 2024.
During this period, residents are encouraged to participate in a survey, providing crucial feedback about their experiences in the town centre.
The insights gathered will be instrumental in shaping a Masterplan Supplementary Planning Document (SPD), which will outline the town centre future course of action.
The Masterplan will serve several pivotal purposes:
Reinforcing Town Centre Status: The Masterplan aims to solidify Harrow Town Centre’s significance across the borough, ensuring its role as a central activity hub.
Regeneration Projects: It will identify key regeneration projects in the surrounding areas, fostering growth and development.
Revamping Streets and Spaces: The Masterplan will propose enhancements to key streets and public spaces within the town centre, enhancing accessibility and community interaction.
Residents are encouraged to actively participate in the process, sharing their ideas and aspirations.
The engagement page serves as a hub for meaningful conversations about Harrow Town Centre’s future.
It seeks to inform the community about the Masterplan’s purpose and potential implications, fostering awareness and understanding among residents. Feedback from the community will be considered, leading to appropriate adjustments in the final Masterplan SPD.
