A bus became trapped under the railway bridge on Headstone Drive, Harrow and Wealdstone this afternoon, 29th October.
The incident resulted in the road closure of Headstone Drive at the junction with Cecil Road. The affected bus routes, H9 and H10, faced disruptions due to the incident.
Passengers also reported long delays at London Euston due to the incident. National Rail posted on X: “INFO: #HarrowWealdstone – Trains running between London Euston and Watford Junction may be delayed by up to 15 minutes following a vehicle colliding with a bridge at Harrow & Wealdstone.”
Fortunately, there were no injuries reported, and the damage sustained by the bus was minor.
The road closure was cleared at 17:26hrs, with emergency services leaving the scene shortly afterwards.
One person posted on Facebook: “A bus has got stuck in Wealdstone, the road is closed next to the court. Does anyone know when it will open?.”
Images sent to Harrow Online showed a number of fire engines at the scene working to help remove the bus from the bridge.
