Weekend travel disruptions across London

Commuters and travelers across London are set to face disruptions in the upcoming weekend due to various planned events and maintenance works.

On Saturday, November 4th, there will be no service on the Central line between Marble Arch and Ealing Broadway, and between North Acton and Northolt, with rail replacement buses operating at affected stations. Additionally, the London Overground will experience disruptions, with no service between Surrey Quays and Clapham Junction, leading to rail replacement buses running every 30 minutes.

On Sunday, November 5th, further disruptions will occur, including no service between North Acton and West Ruislip on the Central line, necessitating rail replacement buses between affected stations. The London Overground will also be affected, with no service between Clapham Junction/Richmond and Stratford until 12:45, prompting the use of alternative Tube or rail services, or rail replacement buses.

The Docklands Light Railway (DLR) will face a strike between Tuesday, November 7th, and Thursday, November 9th. If the strikes proceed, no DLR service is expected on Tuesday and Wednesday, with limited services on those days and minor disruptions expected on Thursday morning.

In addition to the public transport disruptions, various events and demonstrations are scheduled in different parts of the city, leading to increased traffic and large crowds. Events include a concert at The O2, fireworks displays in Battersea Park, Enfield Town, and Queen’s Park, as well as a Nagar Kirtan Procession in the Southall area.

Commuters and residents are advised to plan ahead, check for updates before traveling, and consider alternative routes to avoid inconvenience during this period of travel disruptions and events in the city.
