Primary school in Pinner praised in latest Ofsted report

Ofsted conducted an inspection at Cannon Lane Primary School in Pinner on the 10th and 11th of October.

The school, based in Cannonbury Avenue, Pinner has been rated ‘Good’ in the report highlighting its ongoing commitment to the education of children in the borough. This was ‘an ungraded inspection’ and as a general rule, the school’s grading does not change as a result of this.

The report highlighted the many strengths of the school noting: “The evidence gathered suggests that the inspection grade might be outstanding if a graded inspection were carried out now.”

It praised the good behaviour of pupils at the school, “The school has developed a clear behaviour policy that is understood by all. Staff put this policy into practice consistently, and this helps to reinforce pupils’ positive attitudes and conduct.

“From Reception to the end of Year 6, pupils enjoy their time at school. They are well supported in their learning. Pupils are kept safe. They said that they have a trusted adult in the school who they can turn to if they have any concerns.”

The Headteacher, Mr Alastair Phillips commented: “We are very proud of our school and of the pupils who come here. We are delighted that our recent Ofsted inspection recognised our many strengths and the hard work of all involved.

“We are fortunate to have a very supportive parent community and believe that partnership working is key to achieving the very best outcomes for pupils. Our aim is for all pupils to be Happy, Safe and Successful and our staff are fully committed to achieving this.”
