Harrow Council urges community assistance in cold weather

In response to the current freezing temperatures, Harrow Council have reiterated the importance of aiding individuals experiencing homelessness. Activating the Severe Weather Emergency Protocol (SWEP) when the mercury dips below freezing ensures that no one is left exposed to the elements.

If you come across or suspect someone sleeping rough in Harrow in the cold weather, the following steps are advised:

  • Reach out to StreetLink through their website, helpline at 0300 500 0914, or the dedicated app for Apple or Android.
  • Utilise Harrow’s Rough Sleeper Outreach Referral webform.
  • Contact Harrow’s Homelessness Prevention & Solutions team at 020 8424 1093, which also connects to the Out-of-Office Emergency Duty Team.
  • In case of an emergency, dial 999 if the person is in immediate danger or requires urgent care.
