Dunelm has officially opened the doors to its new store at Atria Watford in the site formerly occupied by John Lewis.
The new store is the 182nd in the UK and spans 33,000 sq ft, it will stock Dunelm’s homewares and furniture, including bedding, outdoor living, home accessories, haberdashery, kitchen and dining.
The new location will also feature Dunelm’s ‘Textile Takeback’ scheme, allowing customers to return unwanted textile products to be purposefully recycled or redistributed.
Atria Watford is home to hundreds of brands, of all shapes and sizes – from small independents through to household names – with other well-known tenants including Zara, M&S, Primark, JD Sports, Apple and Next.
Amanda Cox, Stores & People Director at Dunelm, said: “Opening a new store and bringing the Dunelm offer to a new community is always good news but the opening of Dunelm in Watford is particularly exciting – this is the first of our stores to be based in a shopping centre, making it very accessible to many new customers. We’re really pleased to be up and running in the area.”
Steve Gray, Head of European Retail Asset Management at Global Mutual, comments: “Dunelm is a great addition to Atria Watford and we know our customers have been eagerly awaiting the store’s opening today.
“Following a strong year of leasing activity, we are delighted to see the former John Lewis unit reinvigorated – with new brands that diversify our offer – especially as we head into the festive shopping period.”
