Police investigating ‘unexpected’ death in Stanmore

Met Police are investigating the ‘unexpected’ death of a woman in Stanmore.

Members of the public contacted Harrow Online yesterday evening after a large number of emergency service vehicles were spotted on Felbridge Avenue.

Forensic officers have also been spotted at the location and police remain at the scene as of this evening, Friday 8 December.

A spokesperson for Met Police said, “Police were called by LAS to Felbridge Avenue, Stanmore at about 19:46hrs on Thursday, 7 December following concerns for welfare of a woman.

“Officers attended. The woman, aged 49, was treated by paramedics, but despite their efforts, she was pronounced dead at the scene.

“The death is currently being treated as unexpected and is under investigation. A scene has been put in place at the address.

“No arrests have been made. An investigation is ongoing led by detectives based in NW BCU.

“The woman’s next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.”
