25 fire engines rush to Perivale warehouse blaze on Christmas Day

Twenty fire engines and around 125 firefighters tackled a fire at an industrial estate on Walmgate Road in Perivale on Christmas Day.

Most of the ground floors of multiple single-storey warehouses were alight. Thankfully, there were no reports of any injuries.

A London Fire Brigade spokesperson said: “Firefighters worked incredibly hard throughout Christmas day to bring the fire under control. Crews remained on site throughout the night and firefighters remain at the scene this morning working to fully extinguish the fire.

“The blaze was producing heavy smoke which was being carried by the wind. We urged people to avoid the area where possible and keep windows and doors closed.

“Firefighters used a 32-metre and 64-metre turntable ladder at the scene as water towers.”

More than 40 calls were made to LFB about the blaze. London Fire Brigade were called at 12:35pm and the fire was under control by 19:52pm.

Fire crews from Wembley, Northolt, Ealing, Park Royal and surrounding fire stations were at the scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
