Major road closed in South Harrow due to ‘police incident’

Emergency services closed off Northolt Road in South Harrow this evening after a police incident near Waitrose.

The road was closed off at around 5:50pm with the road blocked in all directions at Shaftesbury Avenue, Roxeth Hill and Lower Road in South Harrow.

Bus routes effected included the 114, 140, 258, 395, H9, H10, and SL9.

A number of police cars could be seen ‘lined up’ along Northolt Road while emergency services responded to a man threatening to self harm.

A spokesperson for Met Police told Harrow Online, “Police were called at 17:30hrs to a residential block in Northolt Road after a man was threatening to harm himself.

“Officers attended with LAS and LFB. Some residents have been advised to evacuate as a precaution.”

Police have confirmed that the incident has now been stood down and the road has reopened. Residents are being allowed back into their homes. No injuries were reported.
