Emergency services rush to ‘incident’ at The Bridge in Wealdstone

A road in Harrow was closed off for around an hour this morning after a police incident in Wealdstone.

The incident happened on The Bridge, Wealdstone shortly before 10:00am and resulted in a full road closure with the 140, 182, 186, 258 and 340 buses being diverted.

Firefighters were called by the Metropolitan Police to assist at an incident on The Bridge, HA3 this morning. London Fire Brigade (LFB) confirmed that a woman was led to safety by crews using one of the Brigade’s 32 metre turntable ladders and left in the care of London Ambulance Service crews.


A spokesperson for LFB said, “The Brigade was called at 1000 and the incident was over for firefighters by 1104. A fire engine from Harrow Fire Station, a 32 metre turntable ladder from Wembley Fire Station and a fire and rescue unit from Paddington Fire Station attended the scene.”

A spokesperson for Met Police said: “At about 09:50hrs on Tuesday, 2 January, officers attended Marlborough Hill in Harrow following concerns for the welfare of a woman. Emergency services attended.

“The woman has been taken to hospital as a precaution.”
