Vernon Lodge building in Harrow ‘now secure’ after complaints of anti-social behaviour

PCSO Trisha Thomas-James recently shared crucial updates on behalf of the Harrow police in Belmont via the Online Watch Link (OWL) website. Here’s a summary of her message:

They acknowledged the challenges of the past year, including the departure of Dedicated Ward Officer Toby Wilson. However, the team welcomed new member Matt Hunt, who has been actively contributing for the past 6/8 weeks.

The team successfully addressed complaints of Anti-Social Behavior (ASB) in the derelict building on Kenton Lane, known as Vernon Lodge, through joint patrols and site security measures. “After much deliberation with Partner Agencies, EHO and Harrow Facilities team to secure the site, I am happy to report the building has been hoarded and is now secure making any access to the property very difficult”, they said.

Recent Belmont ward stats were also provided for the past 12 weeks, the ward reported 5 incidents of attempted residential burglaries, 1 burglary in a business establishment, 2 cases of theft from motor vehicles, 8 motor vehicle thefts, and 4 incidents of vehicle interference.

Residents were directed to the Metropolitan Police’s official website for crime prevention advice on home and car security. In emergencies, residents were reminded to dial 999, while for other police-related inquiries, they could visit the site or call 101.
