The St Anns Shopping Centre multi-storey car park in Harrow Town Centre, has once again been recognised for its commitment to safety and security.
Managed by the centre management team, the facility has achieved the prestigious Park Mark award following a recent assessment by the Metropolitan Police and the British Parking Association.
The Park Mark award signifies that the car park implements effective measures to deter crime and create a safe environment for both motorists and their vehicles. This accreditation is a result of a comprehensive risk assessment conducted by law enforcement authorities and parking industry experts. It takes into account various factors, including the management and maintenance of the facility, surveillance levels, lighting, signage, and cleanliness.
Car parks displaying the Park Mark logo assure drivers of a safe parking experience. Facilities with this accolade have reported a significant reduction of over 80% in vehicle-related crimes.
P.C. Danny McPhail, a Designing Out Crime Officer with the Metropolitan Police and Park Mark Assessor, commented on the achievement, stating, “The St Ann’s Shopping Centre car park has had only one reported crime occurring over the last 2 years. With reported crime and anti-social behaviour on the rise nationally, and especially in car parks, this very low crime figure shows how well-managed this particular car park is. Well done to George and his team.”
Mr George Elia, Operations Manager at St Anns Shopping Centre said: “We are delighted that St Ann’s Shopping Centre multi-storey car park has once again been awarded Park Mark accreditation. We are proud to support the Park Mark Safer Parking initiative and are pleased to provide safer and welcoming car parking to all our visitors.
Antony Powell, BPA Area Manager, said: “I am delighted that car parking facilities at the St Ann`s Shopping Centre in Harrow Town Centre have once again retained their Park Mark award status.
