In a bit of sad news in Harrow this week, ‘Grand Palace World Buffet’ has permanently closed its doors. The buffet restaurant, known for its diverse offerings including Indian, Chinese and American food, only opened in August 2022.
The restaurant, which had made its home at 1-4 Dominion Parade, Harrow HA1 2TR, had a past as rich as its menu. The building, remembered by many as the former Topps Tiles site, and nostalgically recalled as the Harrow branch of Blockbuster Video in the 1990s, had transformed into go-to dining destination.
The closure has surprised some people in Harrow with one resident expressing their sadness: “Gutted that Grand Palace World Buffet has closed down, such a shame as the food was nice.”
The Grand Palace World Buffet had generated some excitement even before opening. Eager inquiries from residents were directed to Harrow Online, with one person questioning, “I have just driven past Tesco in Station Road and there is a new world buffet restaurant being done up, do you know when it will open and what kind of food it will sell?”
Another added, “Hi Guys, do you know anything about the new buffet that’s opening in Harrow near the Safari Cinema? It’s just up the road from it and it looks like it’s going to be pretty big.”
As thoughts turn to what might open next in the location, Harrow Online have spoken exclusively to the new owner, Shahid, who is keeping tight lipped about what to expect.
He did provide the following comments however, “Hello Harrow, Excitement is brewing as we embark on a journey to introduce a brand new dining experience to the heart of Harrow. In a town filled with dining options, we recognize the need for something extraordinary. “Currently, we’re in the midst of transforming our space into a haven of beauty, alongside crafting a menu that promises to delight every palate. Anticipate an atmosphere that goes beyond the ordinary and flavours that will leave you craving more.
“Mark your calendars for mid-April, as we eagerly count down the days to welcoming you through our doors. Get ready, Harrow – a new era in dining is about to unfold. See you soon!”
