Harrow Labour councillors’ collaborative efforts earn award for Headstone Manor Park

After years of campaigning to secure grant funding for the enhancement of Headstone Manor Heritage site and the larger Headstone Manor Recreation Ground, local Labour Councillors achieved a significant milestone by securing £3 million for local refurbishment projects in the park.

In December 2023, Headstone Manor Park was honoured as the principal winner at the 2023 British Association of Landscape Industries National Landscape Awards for its efforts in nature conservation and biodiversity enhancement.

Through collaboration with local volunteers and partners, Labour Councillors secured grant funding to revitalise the park. This effort included the restoration of the historic orchard, the creation of new footpaths, installation of benches, and the addition of new play equipment, all aimed at making the park a delightful place for residents and their families.

In a press release, The Labour Group said they are “hugely pleased that the park can now be a source of pride for all of us here in Harrow.”

Councillor Simon Brown of Headstone Ward said: “It is wonderful to see the hard work of Labour councillors and community partners and volunteers coming together to restore Headstone Manor Park and Museum to its former glory and win such a prestigious award, thank you to the friends of Headstone Manor and all others who helped make this achievement happen.”
