Large police presence spotted near Harrow Weald park

A large police presence was spotted near two entrances to Harrow Weald Park this morning around 9am.

The police were stationed at the gates on Boxtree Lane, leading to the tennis courts, and also at Maricas Avenue, both entrances of the park, also known as Boxtree Park. Additionally, a police helicopter was spotted overhead, indicating that they may be searching for someone within the park.

At least 2 vans and 3 police cars were spotted at the scene. Members of Harrow Online saw police “Racing down Boxtree Lane” in Harrow Weald at around the time they were spotted near the park.

A spokesperson for Met Police told Harrow Online: “Police conducted arrest enquiries at an address at Maricas Avenue / Harrow Weald Park on the morning of Wednesday, 7 February.

“The enquiries relate to a suspect wanted for burglary. There was no arrest.

“Enquiries continue.”
