Man charged after two people aged in their 70s are stabbed in Ealing

A man has been charged with attempted murder and related offenses after two individuals were stabbed in Ealing. The incident occurred on Gordon Road at approximately 8:14am on Wednesday. Police responded to reports of a man wielding a machete and a butcher’s knife in the area.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a man and a woman in their 70s with stab wounds. They were promptly transported to the hospital for treatment, with their injuries deemed non-life-threatening.

A video posted by the Evening Standard depicted a startling scene where a knifeman, dressed only in his underpants, was seen wandering the street following what was described as a “double stabbing.” Additionally, reports suggested that a child was allegedly chased near a school in Ealing, adding to the gravity of the situation.

The authorities swiftly arrested a 31-year-old man at the scene. Following an investigation, Reece McLean, 31, residing on Gordon Road, was charged on Friday, February 9, with two counts of attempted murder, one count of wounding with intent, and one count of possession of a knife.

McLean is scheduled to appear at Ealing Magistrates’ Court on the same day to face these charges.
