Transgender girl stabbed 14 times in Harrow attack, teenager charged with attempted murder

A transgender girl was stabbed 14 times in Wealdstone, Harrow on Saturday night a court has heard.

The victim, 18, was rushed to hospital following the incident on Masons Avenue, Harrow on 11 Feb. Another teenager has now appeared in court in relation to the incident.

Summer Betts-Ramsey, 19, appeared at Willesden Magistrates Court where she also faced a charge of possession of an offensive weapon in public. She has been charged with attempted murder.

Prosecutor Bunsri Bhuwa confirmed to the court that “the victim is a transgender female.” According to The Standard, Betts-Ramsey cried in the dock and she confirmed her details.

Detective Inspector Nicola Hannant, who is leading the investigation, said: “This was a shocking and violent attack and we continue to support the victim and her family as she recovers from her injuries.

Police flooded to the scene in Wealdstone, Harrow.

“Since the incident occurred, we have been working tirelessly to identify those responsible and are making good progress with our investigation.

“We have already arrested four people however we continue to appeal for anyone who may have been in the area or who believes they have further information to come forward and speak to us. We have increased police patrols in the area and would encourage people to approach these officers with any information or concerns.”
