Police cordon in Harrow Town Centre following serious assault

Police have set up a large cordon in Harrow Town Centre tonight (Feb 19) after reports of a serious assault.

The cordon stretches around Trinity Bar and down Station Road opposite Wetherspoons.

Witnesses have said they heard ‘screams’ and as a man was assaulted, footage sent to Harrow Online shows the victim lying on the floor as he is treated by paramedics.

A large emergency service presence remains at the scene in Harrow Town Centre at this time.

A spokesperson for Met Police said in a statement, “Police were called at about 20:55hrs on Monday, 19 February to reports of a disturbance on Station Road in Harrow.

“Officers attended and found a man with a facial injury, believed to have been sustained during an assault.”

The man has been taken to hospital for treatment where he his condition was deemed non life threatening. There have been no arrests and enquiries continue.

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 8.49pm yesterday (19 February) to reports of an assault in Station Road, Harrow.

“We sent an ambulance crew, a paramedic in a fast response car and an incident response officer to the scene. We also dispatched a trauma team in a car from London’s Air Ambulance.

“We treated a patient for a head injury and took him to a major trauma centre.”
