Large kitchen knife found in Harrow estate after youth arrested

In an update posted on the new Harrow MPS Instagram account to address community concerns in Harrow, the West Harrow Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) sprang into action following “information alleging Anti-Social Behaviour and drug related issues in Apple Grove.”

The officers’ timely intervention at the scene led to a significant finding: a juvenile was apprehended “in possession of a knife and class B drugs.” Apple Grove is located in Rayners Lane just off Twyford Road.

In the aftermath of this arrest, the team did not let up on their efforts to cleanse the area of any further dangers. The very next day, a comprehensive “weapon sweep” was conducted around the same spot, which unveiled a hidden threat. “A large kitchen knife was found stashed away close to where the juvenile was arrested,” the team reported, highlighting the potential risks lurking in the community spaces.

The seized items, including the knife, are “scheduled to be destroyed”.
