Majority of Brent children secure first-choice school placement

Last week, Year 6 pupils in Brent discovered their secondary school placements for September 2024 on National Offer Day. With 3,402 applications received this year, 89% of students secured offers from their top three picks.

Additionally, an impressive 69% of Brent pupils received their first-choice school. All applications were submitted online through the Brent Council website.

Councillor Gwen Grahl, Cabinet Member for Children, Young People and Schools, said: “I am thrilled that over two-thirds of Year 6 pupils received their first-choice school and even more, nearly 90% got one of their preferred options.

“97.5% of children attend schools in Brent that are Ofsted rated as good or outstanding and education is a top priority for the council. We will continue to support our schools and families to give Brent’s children and young people the best start in life.”
