Lloyds Bank in Kingsbury to close down

Lloyds Banking Group has announced plans to shut down 53 of its high street branches across this year and into 2025, which includes the Kingsbury location.

The closures will be divided among its brands, with Lloyds closing 21 branches, Halifax 22, and the Bank of Scotland 10.

The branch, located on Kingsbury Road, will close on 3rd July.

A Lloyds Banking Group spokesperson said: “Most of our customers now choose our mobile app or online banking as the main way to manage their money. Alongside online options, customers can also bank with us over the phone, at the Post Office, in a Banking Hub or by speaking to a community banker.

“All of the branch locations announced for closure have alternative options for accessing cash nearby, such as a Post Office or free-to-use ATM. 28 new community bankers will be introduced, in addition to those already helping communities, to provide targeted banking support where a branch is closing.”

On the Lloyd’s website, a spokesperson explains “Before we close any branch, we look at how our customers are managing their money and using the branch. Most customers are now using our mobile app, internet banking or calling us instead, which means they are using branches, including the Kingsbury branch much less.
