Harrow Leisure Centre swimming pools and sauna closed until further notice

The swimming pools and sauna at Harrow Leisure Centre are closed starting today Thursday, March 21 for essential repairs.

A recent inspection revealed that most of the leisure centre building is in good condition. However, concerns were raised about the ceiling above the swimming pool. Consequently, Harrow Council and Everyone Active have jointly decided to close the swimming pools and sauna (which can be accessed via the pool area) from 4pm today.

Specialist contractors will conduct further investigations to determine the necessary repairs.

Corporate Director of Place, Dipti Patel said: “We understand the inconvenience this will cause many people who use our pools and sauna, especially as we start the Easter holidays. This isn’t a decision we have taken lightly – the safety of people is our priority.

“We are working closely with our partners and contractors to ensure the investigations and repairs are done in a timely manner. At this moment, we cannot confirm the reopening date of the swimming pools and sauna but will know more details in coming weeks.

“We will keep everyone updated and appreciate your patience, understanding, and support as we undertake this work.”

Everyone Active will also be striving to offer alternative swimming options for Harrow residents. Look for details on their website.

Stay informed with regular updates on the council and Everyone Active websites, in the MyHarrow newsletter, and Harrow Online.

All other services at Harrow Leisure Centre are unaffected and remain open.
