Rise in snatch-and-grab incidents in Harrow Town Centre

Harrow residents are being urged to stay vigilant following a surge in thefts by individuals on pedal bikes and electric bikes or scooters.

According to Harrow Police, there has been a noticeable increase in the past week of reports involving thieves snatching phones, money, and other items directly from the hands of unsuspecting victims. The most affected areas include Harrow Town Centre and the Harrow Bus Station.

In a statement released to the community, Harrow Police advised, “For all residents in Harrow, please be aware in the last week we are finding more and more reports of thieves riding pedal bikes or E-bikes/scooters snatching phones, money, and other loose items directly from the hands of victims. Most common areas are Harrow Town Centre and Harrow Bus Station.”

Residents are encouraged to maintain awareness of their surroundings, especially when using their mobile phones or handling valuables in public spaces.

“If you are a victim of this sort of crime, do not put yourself in danger and report the crime to police,” Harrow Police added.
