Bob Blackman MP secures £4.8 million boost for SEND students in Harrow

Last January, Bob Blackman MP CBE kicked off a campaign to boost funding for Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) students in his Harrow East constituency.

Having previously secured extra funding for local schools, including major projects like the rebuild of Sacred Heart Language College and upgrades at Stanmore School, Bob focused on garnering more support for SEND students.

Responding to constituents’ concerns about fully allocated SEND places in Harrow, Bob launched a petition to give residents a platform to voice their worries and back the cause.

The petition gained momentum, leading to a meeting between Bob, Education Secretary Gillian Keegan, and fellow Harrow MP David Simmonds.

Following positive discussions, it was announced that Harrow would receive an additional £4.8 million in funding for SEND students.

Commenting on the news Bob Blackman said: “We’ve been working on this for many months, and it is extremely good news for all the schools in Harrow that will benefit from this extra funding.”
