Woman ‘assaulted’ in Hatch End, two men arrested

A large police presence was spotted in Hatch End in the early ours of this morning following reports of an assault.

Emergency services were spotted on Uxbridge Road at the junction with Grimsdyke Road (next to Pickwick Walk) at around 1am this morning, 30 March.

At least two police vans, two cars and an ambulance were seen at the location by eyewitnesses.

A spokesperson for Met Police said in a statement, “Police were called to a residential property in Hatch End following reports that a woman was being threatened and subsequently assaulted.

“Officers attended and arrested two men at the scene on suspicion of false imprisonment, possession of an offensive weapon and criminal damage.

“The victim is being supported by specialist safeguarding officers.

“One of the men was subsequently arrested on suspicion of assault on an emergency worker, after the arresting officer was spat at.

“It is believed that those involved are known to one another.

“Both men remain in custody and enquiries are ongoing.”
