As lighter days and warmer weather approach, love is in the air for many and, in this article, we’re saying I Do to some of Harrow’s great wedding venues and fairs.

Save the date

A few venues in Harrow hold wedding fairs and events each year however these have sadly been reduced since the COVID-19 pandemic. Keep an eye on local press for details of these and, in the meantime, here are a couple that are just a tube ride away:

The Quirky Wedding Fayre

For those looking to move away from the traditional wedding, The Quirky Wedding Fayre might be your perfect match. Taking place on Saturday the 20th of April at the Vinoteca City wine bar and restaurant, 21 Bloomberg Arcade, London EC4N 8AR, this one of a kind wedding event allows you to connect with talented suppliers and professionals. Entry is free of charge, however, if you fancy pushing the boat out, VIP tickets cost £16.99 and include a goody bag, a glass of Prosecco and a wedding magazine.

The perfect place

One of the most important decisions to be made for your wedding is, of course, your venue and, in this section, we’re looking at some of Harrow’s picture perfect places to say I Do.

Grims Dyke Hotel

One of Harrow’s most popular wedding venues, the Grim’s Dyke Hotel in Old Redding has dedicated wedding planners to ensure that your day goes without a hitch. Weddings take place inside the hotel and reception options include the banqueting suite or the hotel’s beautiful garden and terrace. Grim’s Dyke offers a number of different wedding packages including afternoon tea and prices start from £12,500 off peak.

The Great Barn

Headstone Manor’s Great Barn is a stunning venue for a wedding with a difference. Full day venue hire starts from just £5,500 and includes furniture, lighting, sound equipment and access to a wedding coordinator as well as full use of the kitchens. It should be noted that the wedding package does not include food, drink, chefs or servers which must be supplied by the customer.

The Gordon Lounge

Based inside Stanmore Golf Club,  The Gordon Lounge can seat up to 150 guests and boasts fabulous views over the golf course. Fully catered packages are available and prices are available on request.

Harrow School

For those looking for something a bit different, it is actually possible to hold your wedding ceremony and reception within the hallowed grounds of Harrow School. The Old Harrovian Room can seat up to 120 guests for your ceremony and the school offers a number of different reception venues with seating available for 5 to 500 guests. Prices for venue hire are available by email at weddings@harrowschool.org.uk and it should be noted that customers must supply their own catering and may only use approved suppliers for this historic venue.

For better, for worse

Planning a wedding is a really exciting time – but it can also be a very expensive one. For this reason, it’s important to do as much research as you possibly can and attending a wedding fair or event can be really helpful here. When booking a venue for your big day, always be sure to read all of the small print before signing on the dotted line to help avoid any nasty surprises.
