Murder investigation launched in Hackney after death of woman

A murder investigation has been launched following the death of a woman in Hackney.

Police were called to Whiston Road E2 at 06:42am on Saturday, 6 April, to concerns for a woman’s welfare.

The woman was found unresponsive inside a car in an alleyway. Officers forced entry and administered CPR prior to the arrival of London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance paramedics.

An investigation was launched and a man in his 20s was arrested nearby on suspicion of murder.

e provided with every possible support and I can assure them that the Met’s investigation will be conducted with rigour and professionalism.

“While enquiries are in their early stages, I believe the deceased and the man arrested were known to each other.
