Yellow weather warning issued for Harrow as strong winds set in

Harrow, along with the entire capital, is preparing for strong winds today as the Met Office issues a 15-hour weather warning. Gusts of up to 55mph are expected to sweep across Britain, prompting concerns about transport disruptions and potential power outages.

The yellow warning, effective since 6:25am this morning, is set to last until 10pm tonight, urging residents and commuters to exercise caution during their travels. Forecasters have cautioned that the adverse weather conditions could lead to delays in train services and affect road traffic.

According to the Met Office website, the anticipated strong winds may result in spray and large waves along coastal routes, potentially impacting coastal communities. Delays in road, rail, air, and ferry transport are expected, with some bus and train services likely to experience longer journey times.

There is a possibility of short-term power outages and other service disruptions. High-sided vehicles traveling on exposed routes and bridges are advised to anticipate delays due to the windy conditions.
