Deadline Approaching: Have your say on Harrow’s future development before April 25

Harrow residents are urged to participate in shaping the future development of the borough by providing feedback on the council’s Draft Local Plan before the consultation period ends on April 25.

The Local Plan, outlining the vision and framework for development in Harrow until 2041, is currently open for public consultation.

Residents can access the draft plan and provide feedback through an interactive platform set up by Harrow Council.

Key aspects of the plan include directing the majority of new development to the Harrow and Wealdstone Opportunity Area, retaining the suburban character of certain areas, protecting green spaces, and promoting vibrant town centres.

The plan also addresses housing needs, with a commitment to delivering a minimum of 16,040 new homes by 2041, including affordable housing and accommodation for older residents.

The draft plan outlines strategies for high-quality growth, heritage preservation, economic development, social and community infrastructure, green infrastructure, climate and nature emergency response, waste management, and transportation.

Residents are encouraged to review the chapter summaries provided on the consultation platform and share their views on various aspects of the plan, including housing policies, economic strategies, environmental protection measures, and transportation initiatives.

Feedback can be submitted online through the consultation platform, or residents can email written representations to Local.Plan@harrow.gov.uk or mail them to the Planning Policy Team at the London Borough of Harrow.

The council emphasises that community input is vital in shaping the final version of the Local Plan, ensuring that it reflects the needs and aspirations of Harrow’s residents. All responses received during the consultation period will be carefully considered before the plan is finalised.

Residents are reminded to participate in the consultation process before the deadline on April 25, 2024, to have their voices heard in shaping the future of Harrow.
