Residents of Harrow and surrounding areas are being warned against a new scam involving fraudulent calls claiming to be from Harrow Council’s Housing Repairs department.
Local Police Community Support Officer (PCSO) Lee O’Brien, part of the Pinner Safer Neighbourhood Team, has issued an alert concerning suspicious phone calls from the number 020 3991 0438.
Investigations reveal that this number is linked to a scam that has been targeting individuals not only in London but also in the South East and North West regions.
People receiving calls from this number are advised to remain vigilant as the callers present themselves as officials from the council’s housing repairs team, but in reality, they are scam artists aiming to deceive Harrow residents.
For those who encounter such calls, PCSO O’Brien recommends reporting the suspicious contact by forwarding any related information to 7726, a dedicated service for tackling scam communications.
